With deadline approaching to start planning for the LWCCG festival we feel that it would be in the best
interest of our patrons and carvers to cancel our event for the following reasons
- Our venue as mandated by local government can’t guarantee our date. They are telling us that
under present conditions and mandates they will allow no more than 50 people in the venue.
The way things are looking it doesn’t look like those conditions will change.
- Most of our members are in the most at risk group to contract the virus. We do not want to
challenge our members to take the risk to benefit the club.
- Those members travelling great distances to attend our festival cannot be guaranteed lodging
and meals under the present phase II conditions.
- Most of our patrons are under quarantine conditions so even if we were to put on a show there
would be no guarantee that anyone will attend.
- If we cannot guarantee our vendors an adequate attendance, we would be doing them a
disservice.
- If all the above conditions exist then we would be unable to fulfill our obligation to our sponsors
in providing adequate exposure/advertisement and a quality carving
With all these conditions in mind it is with great sadness that we cancel our festival on October 3 & 4
We hope that your continued interest in wildfowl carving continues despite these obstacles and that
your anticipation for next years festival is heightened. Next years festival will be on October 2 & 3. If
you have a prospectus for this year’s festival, the same rules will apply the only change will be the dates.
We hope you understand the reason for our cancelation and assure you it was not made easily. We
pray for your health during this trying time
